The figure of the maid of honor has a certain relevance in the ceremony and should therefore be chosen with some care. While it may be a joint effort of the pair, the final decision should always lie with the bride.
The first bridesmaid should be a sister or close friend of the bride. Tradition tells us that this first lady of honor await the arrival of the bride at the entrance to the church to help her with her veil and her train. During the ceremony is responsible for holding the class until the departure of the procession, at which time they will deliver it to the bride.
Bridesmaid also should shop early for bridal shower favors.
In addition to the first, the bride can be accompanied by up to 8 bridesmaids.
Tradition indicates that the bridesmaids should be, as far as possible, single and the next age of the bride.
