For this trip away we made the decision that we would treat ourselves and book some lake taupo accommodation instead of just the usual old motel that we might stay at. I said to my girlfriend that she could decide on where we stayed but within reason of course as we don’t have thousands of dollars for a weekend away and I know she could spend that if we did. She chose a really nice place that was close to the water. I was more interested in the activities we were going to do than where we were staying to be honest, but I didn’t let her know that.
