Beginner Digital Camera Techniques

Composition of the photograph is one of the main areas that set apart the beginner digital camera user from the expert or professional photographer. With just a few simple techniques, even the neophyte to the digital camera world can improve their composition techniques and take professional looking pictures. One of the most basic rules for composition is the called the rule of thirds. The essence of the rule of thirds is that the main subject of the picture is not centered. Some digital cameras have the view screen already divided into a grid of thirds, so it is just a matter of lining the center of your subject with one of the lines in the view screen. Aligning your main subject off center in accordance with the rule of thirds will give the photograph a more professional look.
