Building backlinks

Building links to your website is usually the first order of business if you want to rank in the search engines.  A big part of the ranking formula is one way backlinks to your website.  The more links, the better.  Most people do not put as much time in a consistent link building program that they should.  Most of the time they hire the job out and the people that they hire do not do a very good job.  People try to short cut a process that really should be done with some care.  Start by focusing on your main keywords and building some anchor text links with them.
