It’s very hard for others to understand this disorder. It’s obvious the feelings of acute worry and fear are completely irrational. This is why the disorder makes no sense at all. But it is important to remember these feelings are very real to the person who is feeling them. In fact, the person more often than not knows there is no reason for it and this makes it even more frightening. If the sufferer ends up by cutting himself or herself off from friends and family don’t ignore it. Make an effort to keep in touch and encourage the person to seek help from a professional. Another way to make the person feel more comfortable about getting help is to tell them about a method that worked for someone else with anxiety disorder. Generalized is the most common and there are individuals who through trial and error have come up with a solution. If the person does not get help he or she will deteriorate.
