Headache Neck Pain

Painful headache neck pain and stiffening of neck that makes it difficult for a person to touch the chest with the chin and this could probably be a symptom of Meningitis. The membrane which surrounds the brain gets infected by bacteria or virus in this stage, and the person should get immediate medical attention. In this condition, pain in head and neck accompanies fever, nausea and vomiting. Generally viral meningitis is less severe and gets resolved without any specific treatment. On the other hand, bacteria-infected meningitis are more severe and absence of immediate attention may also lead to death of the person. Early treatments may avoid more problems, as this disease has the nature of progressing rapidly.  Parents of adolescents and students living in college dorms are more vulnerable to this infection. There are some vaccines which prevent bacterial meningitis.
