On a Windows XP system, the sytem with an older version of MS office such as 2003 will run happily under Windows XP. However, If one has a more recent version of MS office 2007, and use Autocad or Photoshop heavily, than we would recommend 2GB to 3GB or RAM. Also bare in mind that 32bit of Windows XP will not support more than 3GB of RAM.
