I have a client that was mailing a self-mailer on a regular basis and they were looking to enhance the mail piece and make it more effective. The direct mail piece is actually called a roll fold self-mailer and it has multiple panels that fold out and fold in. They wanted to start collecting payment with order instead of giving away free trials of their product. We suggested to them that they make the last panel an actual return envelope. This would enable the customer to mail in their payment. Well, they tested it and it worked! Response dropped a bit, but their free trial processing costs went way down.
