Scratched DVD

If my bmw navigation dvd doesn’t work, first I’ll just try cleaning the dvd.  If that doesn’t work I’ll probably have to do something about the scratches.  I know you can take your dvds to certain stores and shops and they’ll clean it for you, but I’m thinking about just buying a dvd and cd cleaner so I can do it myself at home, I’d probably save money in the long run due to how easy it is to scratch a dvd.  Sometimes they even get scratched due to use.  Maybe next time my dvds scratch up I won’t have to worry about how much it cost to get them serviced.
