Universal Studios and Universal Pictures is one of the largest film studios in the world. It is the ambition of all students at the Top Film Schools get the chance to make a film at this prestigious studio. It was established in 1906 when Carl Laemmle started his first movie theater in Chicago, Illinois. The theater started out by playing short, silent movies. Later, Laemmle wanted to try his hand at the production and distribution of films. To start the production of his own films, he opened the Independent Moving Picture Company in New York City in 1909. His first picture, Hiawatha, was released in the same year and the beginnings of Universal Studios was born.
